The higher public funds prosecution in Egypt ordered imprisonment of defendants in the international network of trade in human organs, for 15 days under pending investigations.
The list includes 28 defendants, including university professors, doctors and members of the nursing staff, and the owners of medical centers, intermediaries and brokers Egyptians and Arabs, who take advantage of the difficult economic conditions of some Egyptians to buy human organs and selling them at large sums of money.
The prosecution decided to lock up 22 of the defendants 15 days, and the imprisonment of six others for four days under pending investigation.
